Anyway, I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan... FFVIII being my absolute favourite of the lot. I blame my romantic side... but it's just so SQUISHABLE! And Squall is just Squall... so yes. And of course as you have noticed I'm an FFX/X-2 admirer too....
I was just browsing around the net when I stumbled across this place. Looks great, fun and I'd love to fit in here :3

To respond to the question at hand, your HP is higher because you have posted more in a shorter time frame. There is an average daily post count that determins HP status. EXP is a direct relation to your post count and level, well that should be a given.

Also, I believe that to maintain a full HP bar, you must average at least 4 posts a day. It's harder than it sounds!

Those are just icons. You buy a ton of stuff in the vbCommerce. They cost Gil which you recive for posting. After you buy something, you can choose to display it. Or you can something for your friends. They affect nothing. Also, the HP does little; it just shows how active you are.
